The mission of the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) is to set policy and approve funding for the transit district.

Supervisors and one member possessing expertise in the field of transportation are appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The three Councilmembers are appointed by the City Selection Committee. The three public members are appointed by the first six non-public members of the SamTrans Board

compensation

$100 per meeting, not exceeding $400 a month
